Hendrix
lived with Bonnie and her husband for about a year, and
in that short time became a joy to the entire extended
family. He had been ill for several months, and his
family gave him all the love, care, and attention that
was possible while he, in return, gave his full devotion
to them. The cancer advanced, and when his life was no
longer bearable, the family, together, was able to let
him go to the Rainbow Bridge to wait for them all to be
together again one day.
These are a
few comments from the daughter of the owners of
Hendrix. It's obvious they "all" loved him very much.
"The things I remember most about him were his
special right ear that always stood straight up and
the fact that right up to the end, he loved to take
walks no matter what the weather. We walked on sunny
days, windy days, rainy days, bitter, snowy cold
days. He kept me in shape even if I didn't want to
be in shape. He was a little boy who loved to run in
the park and man could he scoot when he got out the
front door by mistake. He would high tail it for the
golf course near my parents house and my dad had a
hard time catching him.
Hendrix also loved his beat up little bed even
when he got a pretty new one, he preferred his old
comfortable bed and his big red and yellow Kansas
City Chiefs blanket. He loved chicken and Beggin'
Strips and Dads "ham n' cheese" snacks at night.
I will miss his spunky personality and seeing
him jump around the kitchen when he knew he was
going for a walk. He was my moms breakfast buddy and
dads late night TV buddy. He loved being the only
dog and having a human companion 24/7. The house is
way too quiet with out that sweet boy.
The more I write, the more I miss him. Hope you
can use some of this in a special tribute to a
special boy."
