Kelly, who had been placed with a family, and who proved
to be a wonderful companion for the two pre-schoolers,
needed another home when it was learned that the mother
was pregnant with triplets!! Kelly also began having
some problems which responded well to treatment. She
found an absolutely wonderful home with a couple and
their 2 year old Sheltie, and her life was good. She
became a teacher for the 2 year old, who had had free
run of the house, and became more beautiful as she
settled in. Her old urinary tract problems resurfaced,
and after extensive Veterinary treatments and
procedures, it was found that she had a kidney tumor,
and that it would be impossible to keep her pain-free
for long. It was a tearful time for her new adoptive
family and for Mimi, the Safe Place volunteer who had
been with her from her first days with Safe Place. Kelly
is now pain free as she waits for her friends at the
Rainbow Bridge.
