John called
to say that Rose, who had been his beloved companion for
some four or five years, had become terribly ill when
they were visiting relatives in Pueblo. He took her to
a Vet, and the Vet was unable to save her. Rose and
John had been foster parents for Safe Place for most of
the time that Rose lived with John, and she welcomed
whichever dog was "visiting" her home warmly, as did
John. Rose knew what fostering was about first hand,
as she had gone to John's home herself as a foster
dog. Our thoughts are with John in his sorrow.
